US military confirms supplies pullout started from Syria

After speculation United States has started withdrawing troops from Syria, the US military said Saturday just pulling out of equipment has begun.

However, it is now concerned how fast US will be abandoning its Kurdish allies though the official statements by Trump administration were contradicting on an exit timetable.

According to US defense officials the demand of President Trump for a complete military withdrawal has started with the shipments of military equipment and entire contingent of about 2,000 troops would be pulled out in coming weeks.

Meanwhile, White House confirmed to be ramping up pressure on the Islamic State group even after the pullout of US troops, which has been deployed in Syria for past three years and involved in organizing, arming, advising and providing air cover for the people, Arab fighters and Kurdish.

US kicked off air strikes against the Islamic State group in September 2014. About a year later ground troops in small numbers were moved in.

Trump’s decision to pullout US troops was initially said to be rapid but later it slowed down.

However, the announcement to leave Syria shocked allies and angered Kurds, who are vulnerable to attacks by Turkey.

Senator Jack Reed, a Rhode Island Democrat, called it as a betrayal of Kurdish partners.

Meanwhile, Turkish defense minister Hulusi Akar said they are determined to fight Kurdish militias.
