Vern Buchanan is part of Republican Party and a member of U.S. House of Representatives. He has been doing business for more than thirty years before being part of the Party. Buchanan was also chairman for Florida Chamber of Commerce as well as Greater Sarasota Chamber of Commerce. In 2009, he was selected for re-election as the candidate for Congress and he managed to defeat in Republican primary election, Don Baldauf. He competed against Reverend James T. Golden during the General election during 2010 and won it by 68.9% vote margin.
In 2018, Vern Buchanan was reelected against David Shapiro with a vote share of 54.6%. He is also a member of several other Organizations including Congressional Arts Caucus, U.S. Congressional International Conservation Caucus, Republican Study Committee and more. Buchanan has won several awards for his work like the Spirit of Enterprise from the United States Chamber of Commerce and Legislative Achievement Award from VFW in 2009.
