Russian air force jet lands in Venezuela

Once again after three months, a Russian air force was witnessed to have landed in Venezuelan’s one of the main airports. Two sources confirmed Monday’s landing. One was news media Reuters and the other was a website that tracks plane movements.

In March this year, two Russian air force landed similarly. Both carried defense officials and one hundred troops.

Then Russia was criticized for reckless escalation of the country’s situation. Venezuela is locked into a political crisis for months.

Monday’s plane parked at the Maiquetia International Airport. It was Ilyushin 62 jet having a tail number as RA-86496, which is registered to a Russian Air Force jet.

In March this year, two Russian air force landed similarly. Both carried defense officials and one hundred troops.

Earlier this year US President Donald Trump asked the Russian government to withdraw troops from the Latin American country.

Russia countered the US order citing the planes carried just specialists to serve arms sales contracts.
