Kim’s letter to Trump lacks substance on denuclearization

The well defined “beautiful letter” of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un by President Trump is learned lacking substance and has no details about how to take the path of discussion towards denuclearization.

On the eve of first meeting of Trump and Kim in Singapore the president disclosed to have received a beautiful letter on Monday and he appreciates it. Second summit between the two leaders earlier this year in Vietnam ended empty-handed and the letter is first direct communication since then.

Trump’s birthday is on Friday and his administration official said the letter was a good health wish to the president.

Last month, following stalled diplomacy since February summit, Trump declared Kim was not ready to negotiate on denuclearization. However, the letter now prompts Trump to be optimistic and there is a possibility of further talks.

According to the president both share a healthy relationship and the letter signals something positive is to take place between diplomatic relationships of the two nations.

Trump’s birthday is on Friday and his administration official said the letter was a good health wish to the president.

Briefing to the media in a Rose Garden of White House Trump called the letter as “unexpected” and “very nice.”

Meanwhile, the president has downplayed latest test of North Korea of a short-range ballistic missile while National Security Adviser John Bolton stressed those violated UN resolutions.
