Icelandic President Guoni Th. Johannesson To Visit Canada

Guoni Th. Johannesson, the President of Iceland has left to Canada along with his wife Eliza Reid. Both of them will take part in the centennial celebration of INLNA or Icelandic National League of North America. The INLNA was started in the year 1919 as a cultural based non-political organization to promote tradition, culture and heritage of Icelanders.

Guoni Th. Johannesson will be addressing at this special event and also meeting the Manitoba Lieutenant Governor Janice Clare Filmon and Brian Bowman, Mayor of Winnipeg. He is also expected to visit New Iceland and other parts of Canada where the Icelanders have settled from 19th century.
