Tammy Duckworth, the Illinois U.S. Senator has visited Iraq to show the support to the country to become independent and strong in future with close help from United States. This is her first visit to Iraq after Duckworth’s helicopter crashed during 2004 while on duty for Operation Iraqi Freedom where she lost both the legs.
The former lieutenant colonel was accompanied by Senator Johnny Isakson and Angus King who travelled to several places including Baghdad, Erbil, etc. They also met some of the top leaders in the country and discussed about various intelligence updates. Duckworth also mentioned about her bipartisan congressional delegation related to Iraq last week during the visit.
