Donald Tusk, the President of European Council has expressed his view of delaying Brexit for one year. He mentioned to the EU leaders the delay of Brexit must feature a c ondition and the EU members must decide about this during the vote on Wednesday at the summit. Tusk also said Brexit must not disappoint both sides and UK must be treated with respect.
The diplomats have received draft EU document before the summit which mentions an extension without a deadline. Donald Tusk also said an extension till 30th June as per May’s suggestion can encourage more summits and short extensions. On the other side Theresa May met Chancellor Angela Merkel and President Emmanuel Macron before the summit.
