The PM of New Zealand Jacinda Ardern made a sudden visit to China which was actually scheduled for a week. This is her first visit to the country after becoming New Zealand’s PM in 2017. She was originally planned to visit several cities in China, but the rift between two countries and last month’s mass shooting in Christchurch shortened the trip to a day.
Jacinda Ardern met President Xi Jinping and also signed a deal with Premier Li Keqiang to support agriculture, tax policy, finance, etc. Xi Jinping also expressed his view about mutual trust between Beijing and Wellington. He also wants New Zealand to support in their Belt and Road plan.
