Did someone mistakenly revealed Julian Assange secretly charged

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange could be extradited and arrested from the Ecuadorean Embassy in London, where he is living for years, if criminal charges against him are filed. This would be a multistep diplomatic and legal process.

This seems to be true as it is learned the Justice Department has secretly done the needful. It has come to light lately after prosecutors of an unrelated court filing inadvertently mentioned about the case.

According to current and former law enforcement officials the prosecutors were asked by the Justice Department officials earlier this year to draft a complaint against the person with whom the government is having yearslong battle.

The disclosure comes under such time when investigation is in progress to find links between Trump’s associates and Russia’s 2016 election interference.

During the same period of presidential election run WikiLeaks published many secret emails of the government which were stolen by Russian intelligence officers.

Assange’s lawyer Barry Pollack has dismissed such criminal charges as it is a dangerous path for democracy for publishing truthful information.

However, it is true the Justice Department has been finding ways how to charge WikiLeaks founder with some kind of criminal offense.
