Mexico Approves New National Guard Force

Mexico is planning to do changes in its constitution where a National Guard will be organized that will act against criminal activities in the country. The chamber of Congress has also approved this decision as it was voted by the Deputies by 463 to 1. The Senate also accepted this plan which will act under the civilian command and respond to public safety secretary. Still there are approval awaited from the president and 17 of the country’s 32 legislatures for this plan to come into act.

The proposed plan was from Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador himself which will include military police from army, navy and federal police. The President said he wanted to have the new force under the military command which will now come under the military officer, but some of them want more civilian to feature than the military personal. The opposition parties also accepted this decision from the government as they also get security from federal government.
