Cambodian politics is seeing new twists as the two politicians who were banned have got their political rights restored. The two Cambodian politicians are Kong Korm and Kong Bora who were accused of bringing down the government in the year 2017. Both father and son were part of Cambodia National Rescue Party and they were banned for plotting against Hun Sen, the prime minister of Cambodia with the help of United States.
Kong Korm said that he was happy to get the ban lifted which will help him to join his son in Khmer Will Party which was formed recently. He also said there will be more expectations from the new party that he is joining and happy to get into active politics once again. The government of Cambodia has given the powers for the politicians to appeal against their bans. This effort is known to reduce pressure from the government and the criticism faced by them at international levels.
