President Donald Trump has lately come up with tough words for Turkey following the recent comment of the country to soon launch attacks on the Kurds in Syria even if United States delays pull out of troops.
Threatening Turkey over Twitter the US president said withdrawal of US troops from Syria is based on plans with the regional leaders and attacks on Kurdish forces could result with economic devastation for the country.
Trump added in a follow up tweet even the Kurds should not provoke Turkey.
The US troops have fought against the Islamic State in northern Syria alongside a Kurdish militia while Turkey always has considered them, the People’s Protection Units (YPG), as terrorists group.
Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan had earlier said to be crushing the group.
Trump announced to be pulling out US troops from Syria and it shocked everyone, from Senators to allies. His abrupt decision was criticized too and lately Saudi Arabia’s royal family Prince Turki al-Faisal said the move would benefit Russia and Iran apart from Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Defending his decision Trump said any remaining Islamic State fighters would be airstriked.
Meanwhile, Trump didn’t mention how the economy of Turkey would suffer if the country launches attacks on the Kurds.
