Ex-Election Commissioner About EVM In India

There has been a question about EVM used for voting in India from various political parties. But Om Prakash Rawat, the Indian ex-chief election commissioner said most of the countries use internet enabled EVM and this is not the case in India. There are obsolete technologies used in our voting machines that cannot be tampered. A number of political parties were complaining the efficiency of EVM and this also raised questions among the people of the country.

Rawat also added that the EVM used during the previous elections could not be adjusted as it will get into its factory setting if someone tries to. He said that there was lot of criticism faced by Election Commission because the political parties were in the opinion about using faulty EVM that would help a particular political party. As the parliament elections are expected in few months in the country, Election Commission and EVM will be in question again.
